Gaga pic sparks engagement rumours

Lady Gaga is at the centre of engagement rumours after she was snapped sporting a huge sparkly ring.

The Bad Romance singer was reported to have split from her boyfriend Taylor Kinney earlier this month, but now the star's friend, photographer Terry Richardson, has posted a picture of Gaga online wearing what looks like a large diamond ring with the caption: "Gaga showing off her new engagement ring!"

Gossip sites are now buzzing about the photo tweeted by Richardson - who is travelling with the pop diva in Japan - but it isn't known whether it is actually an engagement ring.

TMZ.com reports that sources close to the 26-year-old have said she is not engaged and that the giant sparkler is just a normal ring.

Earlier this month Us Weekly reported that Gaga and Vampire Diaries actor Taylor were "on a break".

The couple had been dating since they played lovers in Gaga's video for hit single You And I last July.
