Buckley finds rewards in directing

James Buckley has made his directorial debut - with a music video for up-and-coming band The Milk.

The Inbetweeners star, who found fame playing Jay Cartwright in the hit teen comedy, stars and directed the video for the Essex group's new single, Every Time We Fight.

"It's been the most rewarding thing I've done in my career so far. I put myself forward to direct the video and I came up with the concept as well," said the 24-year-old.

James - who also starred in the big screen version of The Inbetweeners - didn't have to travel too far to find inspiration.

"We shot it in a working men's club in Dagenham that my dad would take me to on a Friday night, and I still go now," he explained.

"There's this back story of a factory closing and how the people then come together as a community: I play the worker who rallies them together. The band wrote the song at the same time as the London riots, so the video's in part a reflection on that as well."

James, who became a dad to son Harrison last October with fiancee Clair Meek, has landed a role in Hollywood film, The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman, alongside Shia LaBeouf and Evan Rachel Wood.
