La Havas has Damon Albarn in sight
Lianne La Havas hopes Blur legend Damon Albarn can help her out with her next album after their "eyes met" at New Year.
The 23-year-old Londoner said she would love to collaborate with the Brit pop star on the follow-up to her debut, Is Your Love Big Enough?
Lianne, who was nominated for the Mercury prize for her first release, told the Daily Star: "I'm hoping to work with Damon Albarn. I love him.
"I saw him performing on Jools Holland's Hootenanny and he looked at me. Our eyes met.
"That's as far as it went but inquiries are being made and the early signs are good."
Lianne hopes hooking up with Damon will give her career a boost, after she missed out on being nominated for a Brit award.
She said: "Maybe next year. I was disappointed because I worked very hard throughout last year.
"But I've achieved a great amount and all the girls nominated are very deserving.
"I'm going to be rooting for all the girls - Jessie Ware, Paloma Faith, Emeli Sande. If they could all win that would be great."
