The Killers plan to take a break

The Killers' drummer Ronnie Vannucci has revealed the band are planning to take another break from the road.

The band previously took a year off in 2010 and have just played their biggest live show at Wembley Stadium. Now guitarist Dave Keuning wants to spend time with his eight-year-old son and lead singer Brandon Flowers also has three young sons.

Ronnie told The Daily Star: "Dave's becoming more of a father and wants more time off.

"We all totally respect that, because making and touring an album takes two-and-a-half-years of solid work around the world - more if it goes really well.

"Making the songs is the easy part. It's all the promotion that goes with it that takes you away from your family that's tough."

Ronnie, 37, doesn't have children with his wife, photographer Lisa.

He said: "Not having kids makes it hard for me to put my feet up. I just want to make music because it's a gift and you don't get to do it forever - you get fat and ugly soon enough.

"If we do take a long break I might make another solo album, or if Queens Of The Stone Age's drummer ever falls ill, I'll fight for a spot with those guys."
