Beyonce: Singer's father Mathew Knowles denies trying to cash-in on famous daughter with bootcamp

Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles has been forced to shut down claims he is using his famous daughter's superstar status to make money. Knowles, who was once the Flawless singer's manager, has launched a bootcamp for aspiring entertainers to forge careers in the music industry but his latest business venture has faced scrutiny.

The former Destiny's Child manager will be , The Entertainment Industry: How Do I Get In?, during which he promises to share tips from his 20 years of experience on how to make it in the music business. Many have accused Knowles of trying to profit from Beyonce's success but the businessman has set the record straight.

In an interview with The New York Post's Page Six, Knowles said: "Let me tell you what it's not — that I'm trying to cash out on Beyonce. Nothing to do with that." He added of the bootcamp: "[It's the] same course, same price, that I gave in Barbados. I've given similarities of the seminar in Paris. So it's not something that's new.

"As an educator, most people don't know, I taught for 10 years at the collegiate level. For eight years I've taught here in Houston at Texas Southern University. As an educator, this is what I do for a living. This seminar is just an extension of that."

Beyonce ended her business relationship with Knowles, 63, in 2011 after deciding to take control of the creative direction of her career. Coincidentally, it was the same year Knowles's divorce from Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles Lawson was finalised fuelling speculation of a rift between father and daughter.

However, Knowles says he still has a good relationship with the Grammy-winner and spends time with his granddaughter, Blue Ivy. He told the publication: "I spent the day with Blue Ivy and Beyonce a couple of months ago.

"And actually hope to see them next week or the week after and spend another day doing Play-Doh with Blue Ivy. I'm not just Beyonce's father. People want to brand me as that. I'm the brains behind the success."

In September, Knowles revealed that although he no longer manages Beyonce or her sister, Solange Knowles, he is still working on projects related to Destiny's Child, including a and TV networks.
