NewsOctober, 3 Luke Bryan weighs in on Beyoncé's CMA Awards snubLuke Bryan has weighed in on why he believes Beyoncé's latest album didn't receive any nominations for the 2024 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. Despite Cowboy Carter qualifying for several categories, the superstar's eighth studio album missed out on any nominations when the list was released last month. And during an appearance on SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live on Tuesday, host Andy asked Luke for his opinion on whether Beyoncé had been snubbed by the country music community. "It's a tricky question because, obviously, Beyoncé made a country album," he began. "And Beyoncé has a lot of fans out there that have her back. And if she doesn't get something they want, man, they come at you as fans should do. Listen, I'm all for everybody coming in and making country albums and all that." Luke went on to argue that making a country music album doesn't automatically guarantee any awards since "a lot of great music is overlooked". "Just because she made one... just 'cause I make one, I don't get any nominations. Sometimes you don't get nominated," the 48-year-old continued. Elsewhere in the conversation, Luke voiced support for the CMA voting body and hinted Beyoncé' could have made more appearances at country music events while promoting Cowboy Carter. "Everybody loved that Beyoncé made a country album. Nobody's mad about it. But where things get a little tricky. If you're gonna make country albums, come into our world and be country with us a little bit," he noted. "Like Beyoncé can do exactly what she wants to. She's probably the biggest star in music. But come to an award show and high-five us and have fun and get in the family, too. "And I'm not saying she didn't do that," the Mind of a Country Boy hitmaker added, emphasising "country music is a lot about family". Luke is up for three nominations at the 2024 CMAs, earning nods in the Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year categories. Other nominees include Morgan Wallen, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, and Jelly Roll. The awards ceremony will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on 20 November.
