Michael song to boost Comic Relief

George Michael is to release his first new music since being let out of prison - a cover version with all proceeds going to charity.

The singer has recorded a version of New Order's top five single True Faith with profits being given to Comic Relief.

George was released from prison in October after serving half of an eight-week sentence for drug driving.

He was arrested three months earlier after being found slumped at the wheel of his Land Rover in Hampstead, north London.

The singer's new single will be released as a download on March 13, with a CD out the following day.

New Order have also agreed to give their proceeds to Comic Relief.

George has previously given the profits from his single As with Mary J Blige to the charity, and appeared in a special Little Britain sketch.

Charity founder Richard Curtis said: "It's always so moving when people stick with us year after year - and we're thrilled and delighted about the song, and the wonderful video that goes with it.

"We promise we'll use every penny we make from it to save and change lives in Africa and all over the UK."
