Nero knocks Lloyd off top pop spot

UK dance duo Nero have stormed to the top of the singles chart with their new release Promises.

The pair from London, who are signed to Chase & Status' label MTA, knocked former X Factor contestant Cher Lloyd from the top spot.

Promises is the only new entry in the Top 10 this week, according to the Official UK Charts Company.

Cher, 18, from Malvern, Worcestershire, slipped down to third place with her single Swagger Jagger.

Previous X Factor finalists JLS, featuring Dev, clung on to the number two spot for a second week in a row with She Makes Me Wanna.

Little Bad Girl from house DJ and producer David Guetta and US rappers Cruz and Ludacris climbed to number four from last week's six, while Christina Perri's Jar Of Hearts leapt from 17 to fifth position.

Glad You Came by The Wanted slipped from number three to number six, The A Team by Ed Sheeran is at number seven, while Brighton hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks land their best chart performance to date with Down With The Trumpets climbing to eighth position from last week's number nine.

In the albums chart, Amy Winehouse continues to dominate with Back To Black at number one for a third week. The album sprung to number one a week and a day after the 27-year-old singer's death last month and has remained in the top spot. Her debut album, Frank, is at number four.

The highest new entry in the album chart is a collaboration by American rap kings Jay Z and Kanye West called Watch The Throne, which takes the number three spot.

The two other new entries in the album chart Top 20 are Best Of Randy Crawford, which is number seven, and Trivium's In Waves which is at 16.
