Second time unlucky for Wilding

John Wilding has missed out for a second time in his bid to be a star on the X Factor.

The Essex teenager lost a battle with Frankie Cocozza for a place in the live stage.

Gary Barlow in Los Angeles, who had to decide who goes through, told Wilding: "There are singers in this category who aren't half as good as you, but touch me more. I'm so sorry mate, you're not in my final four."

Wilding, who has already said he could not put himself through the ordeal a third time, said: "I think that's it for me now."

Barlow told Cocozza: "Frankie, you are my pop star, mate, you're through to my final four. I am not going to lose you. Mate, congratulations."

Frankie wept, saying: "I can't believe it, it's the most unbelievable feeling in the world."

Barlow's other choices as the final 32 acts were whittled down to 16 were Craig Colton, Marcus Collins and James Michael.

Groups chosen in Greece by Tulisa Contostavlos were 2 Shoes, Rhythmix, Nu Vibe and The Risk. Girls chosen in Miami by Kelly Rowland were Misha Bryan, Janet Devlin, Sophie Habibis and Amelia Lily. The over-25s chosen in Barcelona by Louis Walsh were Sami Brookes, Kitty Brucknell, Jonjo Kerr and Johnny Robinson.

Kerr, 27, from Warminster, Wiltshire, is X Factor's first serving soldier.
