'Rap farmers' firm launches boyband

A company whose "rapping farmers" advert became a cult hit on the internet last year after airing during The X Factor has created its own farmyard boyband.

Organic dairy firm Yeo Valley will debut The Churned's first single, Forever, in a two-minute ad during this Saturday's ITV talent show.

The video, filmed at the Yeo Valley farm in Blagdon, Somerset, sees the quartet - Aiden, Matt, Zak and Bradley - dressed in flat caps, overcoats and Wellington boots, crooning about "harmony in nature" while they milk cows.

Yeo Valley spokesman Ben Cull said: "Following the success of last year's rapping farmer's ad, we felt we had the opportunity to do something different, hopefully better, and most importantly to entertain for this year's campaign.

"We wanted to make something that was current, would challenge the talent on The X Factor, and allow us to have a bit of fun along the way."

Last year's advert, the West Country firm's first television advertising campaign, became a hit thanks to YouTube, where the video has been watched almost two million times, and Twitter, trending worldwide on the social networking site.

It featured rapping "farmers", including former Britain's Next Top Model winner Alex Evans. Lyrics included "rollin' with my Massey on a summer's day", in homage to the popular tractor manufacturer.

It was directed by Julien Lutz, who is better known for directing videos for stars including Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado and Alicia Keys.

It was later released as a single in an attempt to become the Christmas Number 1, but failed to break the Top 40.
