Robin Gibb treated in hospital

Singer Robin Gibb is still in hospital being treated for an inflamed colon, his spokesman said.

The Bee Gees star was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford on Thursday for tests, accompanied by his wife Dwina.

The 61-year-old had to cancel a series of performances in Brazil earlier this year on the advice of doctors.

He had been due to do a radio interview on Friday but pulled out because of his illness.

Last year Gibb underwent surgery for a blocked intestine, the same condition which led to the death of his twin brother, Maurice, in 2003.

With his group, which also included elder brother Barry, Gibb notched up decades of chart hits including their '70s disco tracks such as Stayin' Alive.

Last year he had part of his intestine removed after suffering pains while performing in Belgium. On his return to the UK he went for tests and was told to prepare for emergency surgery.

Gibb has thanked friends and fans for their good wishes.
