Rock stars prepare for charity gala

The Feeling and Pete Townshend are among the rock stars who will team up with young aspiring artists for an upcoming charity gala in London.

The Royal Albert Hall will host The Prince's Trust Rock Gala next month following the event's relaunch last year.

Townshend helped organise the first Rock Gala in 1982 with record producer George Martin and other performers including Kate Bush.

The event, which raises funds for disadvantaged young people, was an annual event until 1990.

Last year saw the historic event revived after 20 years and raked in £600,000 for the trust.

This year's line-up includes singer-songwriters Chris de Burgh, Julian Lennon, Cerys Matthews and Imelda May and rock legends Kenney Jones and Mark King and Midge Ure.

Dan Gillespie, lead singer of The Feeling, said: "The trust's reputation for putting on first-class music concerts spans three decades and the band is delighted to be on board for this one.

"Anyone who loves music as much as we do and wants to show their support for almost a million young people who are struggling to find work in this country should join us next month."

The gala is set for November 23 with ticket prices ranging from £30 to £175.
