Thom Yorke supports protesters

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has become the latest big name to lend his support to protesters who have been camping outside St Paul's Cathedral.

The singer joined up with 3D of Massive Attack to play a DJ set to "thank" activists from Occupy London who have been protesting against cuts.

The pair performed to a small audience of around 100 people at the top secret gig in the basement of the "Bank of Ideas", an abandoned UBS-owned office block in Hackney, east London.

Posters with slogans such as "Save our squatters" and "Big Sister is watching you" adorned the walls of the room, which was decorated to look like an office Christmas party.

Neither musician spoke to the audience, but both clapped the crowd as they applauded at the end of the hour-and-a-half set.

The campaigners have been camped in the courtyard of St Paul's since October 15. The group also occupies Finsbury Square in Islington, north London.

Other famous faces to have shown solidarity with the protesters are playwright Alan Bennett and fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, who both visited the site at St Paul's.
