Tulisa swaps UK snow for LA sun

Tulisa Contostavlos is planning to spend more time in America, she has revealed.

The X Factor judge and N-Dubz singer - who is reported to have broken up with N-Dubz bandmate Fazer - said at the Belvedere RED pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles that she hopes to crack the States with her debut solo album.

"I'm just recording my album at the moment - I've probably got half the album down already. I'm just out here adapting to the lifestyle, and will probably end up spending a lot more time out here," she said.

"Hopefully I am going to be releasing out here as well. It's crazy! Life's pretty mad at the minute," she added.

Tulisa insisted that she'll keep to her British roots for the upcoming record, saying: "I wouldn't say LA is influencing my sound, but there are huge producers who will bring that American element to the music. But I love that anyway, so I'm happy to go with the flow.

"The album is pretty much what you want for any mood that you're feeling. I want to do a really versatile album - there'll be a bit of everything in there, from hip-hop to dance to slow jams."

The 23-year-old is supporting fellow Brit Adele at the Grammy Awards on February 12.

"I'm definitely rooting for Adele. Gotta root for us Brits! I hope she steals the show," she said.
