Tinie Tempah's 'epic' festival gig

Tinie Tempah has revealed that his headlining turn at Global Gathering was "epic".

The Pass Out singer took to the main stage on the opening night of the dance music festival near Stratford-upon-Avon at the weekend, following performances by Maverick Sabre, Afrojack and Dot Rotten.

"Global Gathering 2012 was EPIC!!! A massive thanks to everyone who came to see... Still Buzzing!!" tweeted the 23-year-old rapper.

Chase & Status closed the festival on the main stage, with Labrinth, Friendly Fires and DJ Fresh.

Other acts who played at the Long Marston Airfield over the two days included Armin Van Buuren, Skrillex, Ms Dynamite, Nero and Flux Pavilion.

Organisers have issued a statement after the death of a 24-year-old man during the event. It is the first death in the history of the festival, which has been an annual event for the last 12 years.

"Everybody at Global Gathering is deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends at this time. We are assisting Warwickshire Police with their ongoing investigation," a spokesperson said.

More than 50,000 festival-goers attended the two-day event, with an estimated 30,000 people camping on the Friday and Saturday nights.
