Stone Roses surprise Olympic stars

The Stone Roses performed a surprise show for Olympics winners including gold medallists Bradley Wiggins and Jessica Ennis.

Frontman Ian Brown gave a few lucky fans some passes for the star-studded evening at Adidas Underground in east London, before he joined bandmates John Squire, Gary 'Mani' Mounfield and Alan 'Reni' Wren on stage for the secret gig, which was sponsored by Olympics partner Adidas.

Heptathlon champion Jessica, who was pictured beside the Roses' Mani, was introduced as the "queen of England" by Ian, who also described gold medal winning cyclist Bradley as the "king of England".

Keen mod Bradley - who won this year's Tour de France and received a gold medal in the Olympic time trials - got to meet his idol Paul Weller, but also found time to pose with the band, and rock guitarists Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and The Clash's Mick Jones.

Other celebrity guests who attended Adidas Underground at the Village Underground in Hoxton included Jaime Winstone, Rupert Grint, Daisy Lowe, Maverick Sabre and Wretch 32.
