Jepsen waited for Good Time to date

Carly Rae Jepsen has revealed she didn't start dating until she was 17.

The Canadian songstress, who is back with new single Good Time, said she was happy to wait for the right time to embark on romance.

She told Top Of The Pops magazine: "I had crushes, but I wasn't ready for anything more and I'm glad I did it like that."

Carly Rae also said a boyfriend must be respectful. She added: "I have a very strict rule that if a guy is being disrespectful to you, get rid of him. I don't have a two-strikes-and-you're-out rule. It's one strike and you're out for me!"

Carly Rae is reportedly dating fellow musician Matthew Koma. Her hit single Call Me Maybe is US Billboard's Song of the Summer having spent nine weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
