Killers: UK fans are big support

Ronnie Vannucci, the drummer for Las Vegas rockers The Killers, has praised the support his band have received in the UK.

In an interview with the Daily Star, Ronnie thanked their British fans for giving them their start in 2004: "If it wasn't for the UK, we really wouldn't be here. They were the first ones to take us in."

He went on to say that the band have a special relationship with their fans in the UK: "You've got to burn to shine and we burn hardest here for them."

In 2010, the band, who have been together now for over 10 years, announced they would take a hiatus. Battle Born, their new album and first since 2008, is released this week.

Ronnie confessed: "You're anxious to see what people think of your latest effort. There's a certain helplessness that we feel. You shoot the rocket up and you don't know where it's going to land."
