Twain: Fun not always prerogative

Shania Twain has revealed she used to find it hard to enjoy her success.

The Canadian singer shot into the spotlight with her 1995 album The Woman In Me, but told USA Today she hasn't always revelled in her fame and fortune.

"For a good 10 to 12 years, I was working non-stop and I wasn't really enjoying my success," the 47-year-old confessed.

"What was there to enjoy about it, really? I wondered, 'What is success exactly?'."

Shania, who is embarking on a two-year concert residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, added: "I won't lie, I've had a lot of discouraging moments in the past years, moments I wasn't sure about things and doubted myself.

"I didn't know Vegas was where I'd end up at the end of my climb up that big mountain of life, but here I am."

The mum-of-one is now keen to enjoy herself.

"The only reason I have this opportunity (to perform at The Colosseum) is because the talent is already there and the dues have been paid. So, right, I'll have fun."
