Little Boots UK Eurovision remedy?

Little Boots reckons she could be the UK's Eurovision remedy.

The singer has tweeted that she'd love to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest, despite the UK's poor track record in recent years.

She tweeted: "Would be totally up for Eurovision. Maybe I should enter."

The annual event's TV commentator in the UK Graham Norton tweeted back: "You will get the call!"

Little Boots, who had a hit with Remedy in 2009 and who released her second album, Nocturnes, earlier this month would be much younger than the UK's last two entrants.

Bonnie Tyler, 61, came 19th out of 26 countries this year with Believe In Me and in 2012 veteran performer Engelbert Humperdinck, 77, came 25th with Love Will Set You Free.

According to The Sun, former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips, who choreographed Engelbert's second from last place performance, said: "It's time for a frivolous, fun-filled, catchy pop song - edgy yet crowd-pleasing."

Kylie Minogue's musical director, Steve Anderson, agreed: "It's time for the BBC to realise the older artists/naff song route isn't the way to go - and hand over to people who get it."

A source at the BBC, who broadcast Eurovision, told the paper: "It's widely agreed the UK entry needs to be younger."
