NewsJanuary, 2 Pharrell first and second top tunesPharrell Williams has come out on top for the best-selling singles of 2013 as he features on both of the biggest two hits. Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines was the top seller of last year and Daft Punk's Get Lucky came in second, with Pharrell providing vocals for both tracks. Pharrell told The Official Charts Company: "I'm humbled by all of the love the UK fans have shown. But, when you are working with incredible talent like The Robots and Robin, great things are bound to happen." Blurred Lines eventually sold 1.47 million copies, while Get Lucky clocked up 1.3 million sales, and Pharrell added to his success by scoring the final number one of 2013 with Happy, from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack. Avicii's Wake Me Up came in third with 1.18 million sales and he said: "I never thought being on the Official Chart was an option for my music, so just having a number one is insane!" Passenger, aka Mike Rosenberg, came in fourth in the list of best-selling songs with his hit Let Her Go which shifted 1.03 million copies and said he was surprised by his success. He explained: "It feels wonderful but completely ridiculous if I'm honest! For the last five years I've been busking and playing tiny gigs in pubs, so for one of my songs to suddenly get so popular is not only a dream come true, but also a huge surprise." The top five was rounded off with La La La by Naughty Boy featuring Sam Smith, which has sold 941,000 copies.
