Miley kisses Seacrest at midnight

Miley Cyrus has performed at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest, giving the host a kiss at midnight.

The former Hannah Montana star performed her hits Wrecking Ball and Get It Right with some unusually tame dance moves while wearing a gold sequinned crop top and trousers with a floor-length white fur coat, according to E!.

But the singer was battling a cold when she went out on stage in New York's Times Square and tweeted before the show: "T his cough/cold is not a good combo. please keep praying for me. If I can just get thru tonight I can have a nice lil break."

She updated her followers after the event: "The power of prayer is amazing... thank you for tonight :)"

At midnight Miley puckered up for a kiss with Ryan to ring in 2014, but was upset to find the smooch hadn't made it into the show, tweeting: "They missed our New Years kiss @RyanSeacrest."

But later on New Year's Day, Miley discovered there was a photo of the kiss.

She tweeted it with the caption: "Yay!!!! They caught our NY midnight kiss! Happy New Years @RyanSeacrest & thank you for having me."
