NewsApril, 4 Glastonbury lines up more big actsKasabian, Jack White, Pixies and Robert Plant are among the major acts to play this summer's Glastonbury Festival as organisers confirmed dozens of new names for the event. Elbow, The Black Keys, Bryan Ferry and Massive Attack are among the other newly announced stars for the huge music bash which is being staged over the weekend of June 27 to 29. They join previously announced names such as Arcade Fire, Blondie, Lily Allen and Dolly Parton at the rural Somerset event put together by farmer Michael Eavis and his daughter Emily. Other draws include Interpol, London Grammar, Wilko Johnson, De La Soul and Goldfrapp, with Jake Bugg, Lana Del Rey and Mercury Prize-winner James Blake also on the bill. Organisers named many of the acts on a poster placed online and claim there will be more than 100 stages scattered across the site at Worthy Farm, Pilton. Further big names are expected and there has been persistent talk over many months of an appearance by Fleetwood Mac. Last year's big heritage act was the Rolling Stones, making their debut at the event. The festival was granted a new 10-year licence, allowing for a capacity of up to 135,000 public tickets, by Mendip District Council last month, securing its future.
