Pink Floyd to release new album

Pink Floyd are set to release an album of previously unheard material.

The record will be the English rock band's first since 1994's The Division Bell, and will apparently be based on sessions from that album.

Band member David Gilmour's wife Polly Samson revealed the news on Twitter.

She explained the record - titled The Endless River - would feature the work of late band member Rick Wright, who lost his battle with cancer in 2008.

Lyricist Polly said: "Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called "The Endless River". Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright's swansong and very beautiful."

Singer Durga McBroom-Hudson, who has previously worked with the Dark Side Of The Moon stars, confirmed the news on her Facebook page.

She wrote: "YES. THERE IS A NEW PINK FLOYD ALBUM COMING OUT. AND I'M ON IT. And there was much rejoicing."
