NewsAugust, 19 Swift shaking off country musicTaylor Swift is shaking off her country sound - announcing the release of her first full-length pop album. The 24-year-old singer unveiled the video for her new single Shake It Off in a livestream via Yahoo! as well as announcing that 1989, named for her birth year, will be released on October 27, 2014. Taylor announced: "This is my very first documented, official pop album. 1989 is the most sonically cohesive album I have ever made and my favourite album I have ever made. "I spent two years making 1989. Two years gives you enough time to grow and change and let things inspire you. I was listening to a lot of late 80s pop music and how bold those songs were and how that time period was a time of limitless possibilities. In thinking about that, this album is a rebirth for me." She told fans during the livestream: "Over the last few years I've learned a very important lesson. We cannot control what people say about us but we can control how we react to it. We can let it get to us, make us bitter, even drive us insane or we can shake it off." The first single for Taylor's new album is the upbeat jam Shake It Off, which she debuted during the livestream. She danced happily in a cropped white top and skirt with the audience as the song played. And the singer also premiered the music video - which features Taylor taking part in ballet, break dancing and contemporary dance as she sings about shaking off all the rumours and criticism she reads about herself, including : "I go on too many dates... But I can't make them stay... At least that's what people say." The song was produced by Max Martin and Shellbeck, who helmed the Swift hits We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble. Her last effort was 2012's Red which sold 1.2 million copies in its first week.
