Stepfather confirms Anderson East is dating Miranda Lambert

Country music star Anderson East's stepfather has confirmed his son is dating Miranda Lambert.

News of the new relationship broke at the beginning of the week (28Dec15), and now East's stepdad Randall Ennis has told In Touch magazine the couple has been dating "for a couple of weeks".

But Ennis admits he had no idea his stepson's new girlfriend was famous, adding, "I don't really follow country music so I really didn't even know who she was."

At 28, East, real name Michael Cameron Anderson, is four years younger than newly-single Lambert, who announced her divorce from fellow country star Blake Shelton in July (15).

Shelton has also moved on from the split - he is now dating No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani, his fellow judge on the most recent season of U.S. TV talent show The Voice.

There seems to be no bad blood between the exes and their new romantic partners however. Reports emerged on Monday 28 December (15) suggesting Lambert is so at ease with the situation she even followed Stefani on Twitter.

Lambert recently opened up about her divorce to Cosmopolitan magazine, saying, "I'm still processing everything and figuring out where to go and what happened. It's (marriage) a tough business, and we gave it our best college try...

"If I ever were to get married again, which is completely not on my radar at all right now, I feel like it's not about it being a step in life. It's not about a piece of paper or a diamond. It's the way you feel about somebody and the commitment in your heart."
