Ellie Goulding announces 'intimate' Glasgow show for next year

Ellie Goulding will perform an ‘intimate’ Glasgow show as part of her new tour next year.

The Starry Eyed singer will take to the stage of the city’s O2 Academy on May 10, 2021 during her six-date UK and Ireland ‘Brightest Blue’ tour.

The announcement of the tour comes just weeks before her album of the same name is released on July 17 this year.

Brightest Blue will feature collaborations with the likes of Diplo and the late Juice WRLD among others.

The album was originally due for release this month but it was pushed back due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

This year will mark the 10th anniversary since the release of her debut album Lights, which features hits such as a Under the Sheets and The Writer.

Speaking of Brightest Blue, the 33-year-old popstar tweeted: “The general feeling of my new album is that people get to immerse themselves into a world of hope despite everything being so bleak, you have to tear through your own demons to get to the other side but also realising that you can free yourself from toxic relationships.

She added: “Looking forward to finally being able to see you all and be with you once again.”

Fans who have pre-ordered the album by 5pm on Tuesday will be given exclusive presale access for tickets, which opens on Wednesday this week.

The general sale of tickets opens at 9am on Friday.
