Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock wells up as she speaks about inspiring band

Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock broke down in tears as she praised Nostalia for inspiring younger viewers.

The 29-year-old songstress became emotional after the band performed during the live final on Little Mix: The Search.

Leigh-Anne was proud that the group offered such diversity and was able to inspire younger viewers of colour.

The group, made up of Shanice, Tyler Lewis, Mya-Louise Smih, Ester Durin and Tamara Salmon, was put together by Little Mix and made it to the final of the talent show with their impressive performances.

"This group is just so powerful," Leigh-Anne told the group following their performance.

"And not just because of your powerhouse vocals and how amazing you girls are, but the fact my little niece can watch her TV screen and see girls who look like her.

Leigh-Anne added: "That's so important and it's needed. There is a space in the music industry for you girls, there is."

Although Nostalia narrowly lost out on winning the show to Since September, fans have already called for the girl group to be signed and praised the group for being "ridiculously talented."

"Someone better get my girls #Nostalia top management. I need their vocals in my life," wrote one fan.

"If #Nostalia don’t win I’ll be so annoyed they’re amazing @LittleMix #LittleMixTheSearch," penned another.

A third wrote: "OMG #nostalia just killed it ! What a superb performance ! Vocals vocals vocals !!!! #LittleMixTheSearch has really unearthed fantastic talent."

Tonight's final saw Nostalia put through their paces alongside fellow finalists YChange, Melladaze and Since September.

The groups each performed two songs in front of the Little Mix judges before the final vote going to viewers at home.

Boy band Since September were crowned champions and will go on to support Little Mix during their Confetti tour.
