NewsSeptember, 26 Pink rejects rumours over decision to wipe X accountPink has insisted her decision to wipe her X account has nothing to do with Sean 'Diddy' Combs. In February, the So What hitmaker - real name Alecia Moore - took to the social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, to share that she would be deleting her account. "This account will self-destruct in two minutes," she wrote in her final message. But after Combs was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution earlier this month, some X users began to circulate a rumour online that Pink's choice to quit the site was an attempt to conceal a connection to the hip-hop mogul. Accordingly, the Get the Party Started star took to Instagram on Wednesday to vehemently deny the speculation. "I don't know why I became a headline this week, but I wiped my Twitter account on February 6!!!" she wrote. "There is no truth to the rumors spread this week, and while I've met people in passing, I'm not associated with any of the people mentioned." Earlier this week, Usher - who was mentored by Combs as a young artist - was also forced to address similar rumours after his X account was wiped. In a statement, the My Boo singer insisted he had been hacked. "Account got hacked and damn y'all ran with it!" he commented. Previously, Pink explained during an interview with Australian radio show Carrie and Tommy that she quit X as a result of death threats and the "absolute hatred" she experienced online. "Oh my God, I feel free. I'm so done. I've had so many beautiful experiences on Twitter and so many wonderful connections that I would have never of had otherwise but that is not what Twitter is anymore, it's not even called Twitter anymore," the 45-year-old explained. "Now it's just a cesspool of unhappy people that go on there to dump. It's just no good for your mental health, it's just not good." Combs pleaded not guilty to the charges and is currently being held without bond at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City while he awaits trial.
