Harry Styles thanks New York as residency ends

Harry Styles has wrapped up his 30-night run at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and he chose a fitting way to say goodbye: a thank-you letter printed in The Village Voice.

The singer finished his Together, Together residency on Saturday. To mark the occasion, he worked with the city's long-running news and culture publication on a special commemorative print edition, available free of charge.

The issue carries a message from Styles titled "Letter from a Fan of NYC", in which he thanks the city for hosting him since late August. "Friends, strangers, citizens of New York, it has been an honour to live and work in your city for the past three months. Thank you for welcoming us and allowing Together, Together a place in the city's rich history," he wrote.

He also reflected on the shows themselves, saying he had a great deal of fun with a run that was, in his words, pretty obviously enjoyable for anyone who attended. He explained that the residency somehow let him present Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. exactly as he had hoped, in a way he hadn't even anticipated. The audiences' energy, openness, dancing and sheer joy, he added, will stay with him and changed him.

Styles described teaming up with The Village Voice as a privilege, saying the letter offers a small glimpse into the residency. "It's not the whole story, of course, but it's a little piece we can share right now. I look forward to hearing your stories in the years to come, and sharing mine," he continued. "Until next time, take care of each other, New York. Love, H."

The special edition also includes contributions from Anna Wintour and Jamie xx, who opened for Styles on the tour, and it highlights the organisations he backed during the residency, among them Choose Love, Planned Parenthood and Food Bank For New York City.

The As It Was singer began the residency on 26 August and closed it with two "Harryween" shows over the weekend.

The Together, Together tour picks up again later this month with six dates in Australia. Following a break, Styles will return to the road in April 2027.
