Hilary Duff opens up about making new album with her husband Matthew Koma

Hilary Duff has opened up about making her new album with her husband Matthew Koma.

The actress and singer released her sixth studio album, Luck... or Something, on 20 February, 11 years after the release of her fifth album, Breathe In. Breathe Out.

During a conversation with Dakota Fanning for Interview Magazine, Hilary reflected on co-writing songs with her husband, who also produced the album.

"One, the comfort I feel, having that guy in my corner - it sounds so cheesy to say, but waking up every day and taking on the things in our world - we're such a unit," she said. "Growing up in the industry, I felt like a lone rider for such a long time."

The Lizzie McGuire star continued, "That's such a dorky word, but I was like, 'I'm tough. I've got this.' It took me a really long time to accept how much he could take off of my plate."

Hilary went on to describe Matthew as "insanely talented".

"I wasn't interested in making a record with anyone else," she told Dakota. "I was like, 'It has to just be me and you.'"

Hilary added that working with her husband allowed her to be more authentic.

"The most honest stuff came from that because he has a front row to my life and everything I've experienced, the really difficult times and the really easy good times that made me who I am," she shared. "Everyone's like, 'How is it working with your husband? Do you guys fight a lot?' I'm like, 'We literally never fight.'"

Hilary and Matthew tied the knot in 2019, and they share three daughters, Banks, Mae and Townes. The actress also has a son, Luca, with her ex-husband Mike Comrie.
