Harry Styles wraps MSG residency with Jalen Brunson

Harry Styles wrapped up his New York City residency at Madison Square Garden with a little help from a local sports star.

For the final night, the singer brought Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks out on stage. The Knicks have called MSG home since 1968, so the arena is familiar ground for him.

Saturday's concert was the 30th date of Styles' Together, Together residency. Brunson handed him a commemorative banner, and the crowd greeted the basketball player with a loud "MVP" chant. He wore a hat bearing the words "Techno is my boyfriend".

Height became the running joke. "Can you just make a note, we're almost as tall as each other," Styles said as Brunson stood beside him. "And, yes, I will return your hat," Brunson shot back.

This wasn't Brunson's first visit to the residency. The NBA champion had already been to two earlier shows at the Garden, and on 12 September Styles gave him a shoutout from the stage.

"We may or may not have the King of New York in the house tonight, Mr Jalen Brunson," Styles said at that gig. "He's just trying to have a quiet night out. Not a chance. Not in this city. It's like Mickey Mouse going to Disneyland."

Brunson will be back at Madison Square Garden on Monday, when the Knicks face the Brooklyn Nets.
