The 31-year-old singer died after falling from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Argentina on 16 October. On Thursday, Argentinian authorities confirmed one person who accompanied Payne during his stay in Buenos Aires had been charged with "the abandonment of a person followed by death and the supply and facilitation of drugs". A hotel employee and a third person have been charged with supplying drugs to the star. None of the individuals arrested have been named. The public prosecutor's office confirmed toxicology tests showed traces of alcohol, cocaine and prescription antidepressants in Payne's system at the time of his death. Investigators examined hours of video footage from security cameras, along with Payne's cell phone calls and messages to determine his final movements. His laptop is still being examined along with other devices. The Strip That Down singer was staying at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires when he fell. An autopsy concluded the British star died from internal and external bleeding as a result of the fall. Earlier this week, officials confirmed to the BBC that Payne's body had been released to his family and flown back to the UK after the completion of laboratory tests and toxicology reports.
