NewsMarch, 14 Lizzo shares details of 'dark, deep depression'![]() Lizzo has shared the details of her "dark, deep depression" with fans. The Good As Hell singer opened up about her emotional struggles during a Los Angeles concert, telling the audience she had experienced such a "dark, deep depression" over ongoing lawsuits that she had entertained thoughts of ending her life. "About a year and a half ago - it's so hard for me to talk about - I was in such a dark, deep depression," Lizzo, 36, told the crowd during an intimate gig at LA's The Wiltern on Wednesday. "I was so heartbroken by the world and so deeply hurt that I didn't want to live anymore, and I was so deeply afraid of people that I didn't want to be seen. Eventually I got over that fear." An encounter with a fan "saved" her, she said. "Something miraculous happened. Somebody, who I didn't know, looked at me and said, 'Lizzo, I love you,'" she said. "And they reached out, and I reached back, and we hugged, and it felt so damn good." The experience was "f**king life-saving," Lizzo added. In 2023, Lizzo was sued by three of her former backup dancers and an ex-stylist for alleged sexual harassment and claims that she created a toxic workplace environment. The singer consistently denied all allegations and was dismissed as a defendant from the stylist's lawsuit, however, the various legal proceedings remain unresolved.
