The acclaimed Scottish singer and record producer has announced that he has been forced to cancel shows scheduled for September onwards in Europe and Australia. On Wednesday, Midge - real name James Ure - took to Instagram to explain that he must receive treatment for a "health issue". "It is with great sadness and difficulty that I have to reschedule all shows planned from September onwards," the 71-year-old wrote. "During a recent routine check-up, doctors discovered a health issue that requires urgent treatment and a period of recovery." The Ultravox singer went on to assure fans that the gigs would be rescheduled for a later date. "I know many of you travel great distances, often across borders to attend the shows, and I never take that support for granted," he penned. "I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience or disruption this causes to your plans." Midge continued, "I remain fully committed to performing all shows currently scheduled for this month and I'm looking forward to being out there with you for as long as I'm able." The singer also clarified that his 2026 tour, A Man of Two Worlds, is "very much going ahead" and said that he is aiming to be "back on the road again as soon as possible". Midge concluded the post by asking for privacy for himself and his family "during this difficult time" and thanking his fans for their "unwavering support". A Man of Two Worlds, featuring a blend of classic album tracks and cinematic instrumentals, is set to begin on 8 May in Bath, England.
