Doechii pulls out of two major U.K. festivals

Doechii has pulled out of two major U.K. festivals.

The U.S. rapper has cancelled two upcoming festival performances at short notice and without explanation.

Doechii, real name Jaylah Hickmon, was due to perform at London's All Points East festival on Saturday and at Bristol's Forward festival on Sunday.

However, on Tuesday, officials from both festivals released statements announcing that the Denial Is A River hitmaker would no longer be performing.

All Points East's organisers wrote in their official statement, "We're very sorry to announce that Doechii will no longer be performing at her upcoming shows. She is an incredible artist, and, like all of her fans, we were hugely excited to see her on stage."

They continued, "All Points East has an amazing line-up including RAYE, Tyla, JADE, Jyoty, Nao and many more, and it's set to be a truly unforgettable day."

Meanwhile, Forward's organisers wrote, "We are very sad to announce that Doechii will not be performing at her upcoming shows. She is an incredible artist and we were as excited as you were to bring her to our hometown of Bristol."

The statement continued, "We are so proud of this year's Sunday lineup, with three amazing female headliners in Jorja Smith, The Last Dinner Party and Olivia Dean gracing our stage, as well as a plethora of other amazing musical talent across the day."

No reason has been given for the last-minute cancellations.

This follows the news that the Anxiety rapper had pulled out of the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, France, where she was due to perform on Thursday.

Doechii most recently performed at the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium on Sunday, and she is set to kick off her Live from the Swamp tour in Chicago on 14 October.
