Miley Cyrus describes Pamela Anderson and Dolly Parton as 'guiding lights'

Miley Cyrus has described Pamela Anderson and Dolly Parton as the "guiding lights" in her life and career.

During a conversation with the Baywatch actress for CR Fashion Book, the 32-year-old singer reflected on their collaboration on the 2024 film The Last Showgirl.

Pamela, 58, revealed that due to the most recent Los Angeles fires, there was no premiere for the film. Instead, the pair spent time together privately and "had (their) own little chat" - the last occasion they saw one another.

Miley went on to explain that, although they do not see each other often, the Canadian star remains a source of inspiration.

"I feel like I've had a couple of guiding lights throughout my career, and you've definitely been one of them - whether we check in every couple of years or you come to a show," she shared.

She also highlighted her godmother and long-time collaborator, country legend Dolly, as a constant influence.

"During the fires, when there was so much devastation and grief, in those moments I always thought of Dolly Parton," she told Pamela. "Through her music and her gift for making people happy, she's always been medicinal in those times. She always tells me that moments of trauma aren't times to shut down or give up as entertainers."

Miley added, "It's our duty - one of the reasons we chose this calling - to be a source of joy and inspiration during moments of trouble."

However, she acknowledged the challenges of striking the right tone during difficult times.

"There's a balance, and even some controversy, in how people feel you should respond in times like that," she stated. "But I think the way we showed up reflected who we are as artists."

Pamela starred in The Last Showgirl, while Miley sang and co-wrote the end-credits song, Beautiful That Way.
