NewsNovember, 10 Lorde forced to cancel concert after 'ruthless' bout of food poisoning
Lorde has been forced to cancel a concert at the last minute due to illness. The What Was That hitmaker, real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, had been scheduled to perform a gig at the Rockhal in Luxembourg as part of her Ultrasound World Tour on Sunday night. However, Lorde took to her Instagram Stories hours before the concert was set to take place to announce that she was too unwell to perform. "Luxembourg I'm so sorry to have to tell you that I came down with ruthless food poisoning last night and am still too sick to play for you today," she wrote. "I've been resting all day hoping I'd be well enough but I can hardly stand up and you deserve more." Lorde went on to apologise to ticketholders for any inconvenience caused. "I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to it: our first ever Lux show, first night of Ultrasound EU and our one show with (French musician) Oklou, it's beyond gutting," the 29-year-old continued, adding: "Please know that if there was any way I could pull it off, I'd be out there. Love from a very weak girl." To conclude, Lorde assured fans that she was working with the promoter to reschedule the show for a future date. The singer-songwriter, who dropped her fourth studio album Virgin in June, is next set to perform in Paris, France on Monday night.
