NewsNovember, 14 Kesha congratulates mother Pebe Sebert on releasing debut album
Kesha is "so proud" of her mother, Pebe Sebert, for finally releasing her debut album. On Thursday, singer-songwriter Pebe announced that her self-titled project would be unveiled on 12 December. The album, which will include the singles Vampire and City's Burning, will showcase Pebe's original recordings from the '80s. Following the news, Kesha took to X to praise her mum for taking the leap. "I grew up in the studio, watching my mom turn her life into songs," she began. "These moments became stories. These stories are her life. She wrote an album before I was born. This was the only album she made as an independent artist before focusing her life on raising her children and writing songs for other people." The Joyride hitmaker went on to note that it is particularly exciting that she has been able to release the project via her eponymous independent music label, Kesha Records. "I grew up watching this alchemy, and I only became who I am because of the road she paved before me. I'm so proud to finally release my mom's debut album on KESHA RECORDS, and I'm so proud of her release today!" the 38-year-old exclaimed. An established songwriter, Pebe has co-written tracks for her daughter as well as the likes of Pitbull, Miley Cyrus, and Dolly Parton. And in an Instagram post, the 69-year-old expressed her delight over the fan response. "I want to thank everybody for all of the support and excitement about the City's Burning. I can't wait to hear what you think," she added. Kesha dropped her sixth studio album, Period, in July.
