Bret Michaels Cancels 2026 Tour Dates

Bret Michaels has spoken out after calling off the rest of his 2026 tour dates. The Poison frontman had emergency surgery for kidney stones last month and returned to the stage in Georgia on Friday, but his medical team then advised him to take several months off to rest and recover from his recent procedures.

On Sunday, the 63-year-old, who has Type 1 diabetes, told fans on Instagram that he is working with his team to manage his health. He wrote that he always chooses victory over being a victim to his disease and truly believed he could do all the shows despite the recent medical domino effect.

He explained that he has been diligently working with his doctors and physical therapists, adjusting his new medication and factoring in the heat in Atlanta, which he had not accounted for during his first show back. He also admitted he forgot to consider the coast-to-coast flight and its impact on his blood sugar and blood pressure.

Michaels said he was truly upset to miss The Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on Saturday, and promised to return in 2027 or 2028 to make it the best show ever. He concluded that his energy and soul really want to play music, and he hopes to get things figured out sooner rather than later, adding that if he could, he would be back out there tomorrow.
