NewsAugust, 26 Camron Jones Cast as Tupac in Snoop Dogg Biopic
Camron Jones has been added to the cast of the forthcoming Snoop Dogg biopic. The actor, known for his role as Bishop Moore in the series Panic, will take on the part of rapper Tupac Shakur. Jones, who attended the British American Drama Academy's Midsummer in Oxford programme at Magdalen College Oxford in 2017, has also appeared in Grown-ish, The Purge and Shameless. Jonathan Daviss, a star of Netflix's Outer Banks, is set to portray Snoop Dogg in the film, which chronicles the musician's rise from Long Beach, California to rap superstardom. The production has been casting recently, with Myles Bullock as Dr Dre and Lauren London as Snoop's mother, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Shakur, a prominent West Coast rapper, was killed in a drive-by shooting in 1996. Both he and Snoop Dogg were signed to Death Row Records and collaborated on tracks like 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted. Their relationship soured when Shakur urged Snoop to take sides in the East Coast–West Coast feud. The murder trial of Duane 'Keffe D' Davis, a former gang leader, is currently underway, nearly three decades after Shakur's death.
