Cheryl, Jessie bring Brits glamour

Cheryl Cole and Brit winner Jessie J brought glamour to the red carpet before the 2011 Brit Awards.

Cheryl looked like a real rock chic in her fitted black dress with plunging back, while Critics' Choice winner Jessie stood out in her emerald green mini dress.

Jessie, who is currently at number one with her single Price Tag, admitted her Brit accolade - announced before the event - has yet to sink in.

"It feels like a dream, it's crazy. It feels like only yesterday I was at the Brit school, taking pictures of famous people and now I'm going to go on stage and pick up an award," she said.

She said she was proud to be a British artist in today's times.

"It's a super amazing time for British music right now - it has evolved so much. To be number one is amazing and I'm just overwhelmed. I'm going to work hard and hopefully I'll be here again next year," she added.

Dame Vivienne Westwood - who designed the statuette for the biggest night in British music, was also the designer of choice for many of the stars.

Paloma Faith chose a black and gold sequinned floor-length Westwood dress.

Also wearing Vivienne's designs were nominee Ellie Goulding, who picked an ethereal sequinned number, and classical singer Katherine Jenkins in a green gown.
