West and Blige headline Essence
Kanye West and Mary J Blige are among the headliners at the 2011 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.
The line-up will also includes Charlie Wilson, Fantasia, Boyz II Men, Stephanie Mills, Macy Gray, Dwele, Alexander O'Neal and Cherrelle, Mint Condition, Kelly Price, MC Lyte, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Trey Songz and Jill Scott.
Michelle Ebanks, president of Essence Communications Inc, said the lineup includes musicians who fans asked to see.
More artists will be added for the festival, which will be held July 1-3 in the Louisiana Superdome.
A number of local stars are also scheduled to perform as part of the 17th annual event.
