Barlow waxwork has the X Factor

Gary Barlow appears to have the wax factor.

The Take That star looks like he is getting to grips with his new role as a judge on talent show The X Factor, weeks ahead of joining the series.

London tourist attraction Madame Tussauds has prepared for his debut in the ITV1 hit by placing his figure in a special area dedicated to the show.

And visitors can have a go at singing for the new judge in the "X Factor studio", a recreation of the audition space used for the show.

They will also have a chance of having their efforts seen by the producers of the show. The best audition from each day will be reviewed by the programme team as part of the selection process for this year's series, Tussauds said.

Gary was officially confirmed as a judge yesterday, alongside Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh.

Show supremo Simon Cowell is not taking part in the series due to his US commitments, launching a new version of The X Factor across the Atlantic.

Gary has been dressed in a sharp suit for his appearance in the Tussauds X Factor area.

The real-life singer is currently going through his paces on Take That's sell-out stadium tour which began on Friday at Sunderland's Stadium Of Light.

Tussauds head of marketing Richard Orr said: "The programme is a phenomenon and outside of real auditions this is the only place you'll get a taste of what it's like to sing for the judges."
