Lady Gaga shocks at Radio 1 event

Lady Gaga put on the mother of all shows at Radio 1's Big Weekend - arriving in a gold coffin with a fake baby bump.

Emerging from the velvet-lined box for her only British festival appearance this year, she opened with Born This Way, before stripping down to a leather crop top and hotpants for Bad Romance.

Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, changed the words to jazz standard Orange Coloured Sky to include mentions for royal newlyweds William and Kate - the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - as she performed the hour-long show for a crowd of 20,000 in Carlisle, which was broadcast on Radio 1, and also shown live on BBC Three.

"When I was in the United States, I wished I was at the royal wedding. I want to be the girlfriend of a handsome prince," she added.

Later on, she tweeted: "Radio 1 show was killer!"

It's been a fun-filled week for Lady Gaga, who has been spending time in the country, having appeared on The Graham Norton Show and playing an exclusive gig at Annabel's private members club.

She also revealed how she was left "speechless" after reaching the 10 million milestone on Twitter.

"10Million Monsters! I'm speechless, we did it! It's an illness how I love you. Leaving London smiling," she wrote.
