Amy foundation 'run from her home'

A foundation set up in Amy Winehouse's name by her father will reportedly be run from her home.

According to the Sun, the charity will have its headquarters in the Camden, north London, property where the 27-year-old singer was found dead last month.

The newspaper quotes a source as saying the Winehouse family considered the home "too precious" too sell.

Discussing the new charity, the source said: "Everyone is united in making it a success - the label, her family, friends and management. Having the offices in her old house is something they all thought made sense."

It emerged on Thursday that royalties from one of Winehouse's last recordings - a duet with Tony Bennett of jazz classic Body and Soul - will go to the foundation.

Her father Mitch Winehouse said: "We wanted to make a positive difference and help a range of causes close to Amy's heart. This could include help for children in trouble, suffering from health problems, children's hospices and more.

"While it is separate from my campaign to find more help for young addicts, that may be one of the areas the foundation contributes to.

"We intend to raise funds and distribute them to individual projects who apply for help. I couldn't be happier that everyone involved with Amy and this recording felt they wanted to contribute."

He said the duet was "the most fitting tribute of all at this very difficult time".

Mr Winehouse visited Parliament earlier this week to plead with the Government to reform drug rehabilitation centres for youngsters.
