Barlow and Tulisa make charity song

Gary Barlow has teamed up with his fellow X Factor judge Tulisa, along with the cream of young rap acts, for the next Children In Need single.

The Take That star is giving the annual charity track a "credible makeover" by recruiting stars such as Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk and number one act Wretch 32.

They recorded a new version of the Massive Attack hit Teardrop earlier this week which will be released just days before the live TV broadcast on November 18.

The fundraising single often has a comedy or novelty element but Gary decided he wanted to attract a range of popular young acts, drawn mainly from the grime scene.

The original version of Teardrop - which featured the voice of Cocteau Twins singer Liz Fraser - has been sampled and the lyrics have been adapted by Wretch 32 among others.

Acclaimed producer Labrinth - who was behind Tinie Tempah's Brit-winning single Pass Out - has worked on the track.

Also featuring on the track are Ed Sheeran and Rizzle Kicks.

Gary told The Sun: "Children In Need has a history of doing upbeat singles with comedians but it's a serious charity doing a lot of hard work for serious causes."

The name of the group - who recorded the single and video at London's Metropolis Studios - is still to be chosen. All profits will go to Children in Need.
