No new 'heartbreak' hit for Adele
Chart-topping star Adele has ruled out dedicating her next record to her latest heartbreaker.
The singer has famously been inspired to write her hits by the ups and downs of her love life.
But the star tells chat host Jonathan Ross she refused to write about the last boyfriend who left her "burnt" earlier this year.
Adele's record-breaking hit album 21 was inspired by a devastating break-up, including her moving single Someone Like You.
Speaking on ITV1's The Jonathan Ross Show tonight, she says: "I got a bit burnt back in May, around my birthday, and I know he would be over the moon if I wrote a record about him. But no way is that boy getting a record about him. No way."
Adele points out the rigours of touring meant she found it hard to meet new men and adds: "I hate being single."
The Rolling In The Deep Singer tells Ross - during the first of his new ITV chat shows - that she has little interest in fame. And she said that while she was appearing at the MTV Video Music Awards last weekend, she was longing to be back in the UK with friends.
She says: "I'm not very in touch with the fame side and I don't chase none of that and to be honest it doesn't interest me at all.
"I was at the VMAs the other day and it was a good night out but I felt pretty out of place and wished I was at home with my girlfriends."
