Steps claim album chart top spot

Steps have jumped straight to the top of the Official Albums Chart after a decade-long break to claim their third number one album.

The nineties five-piece - who have recently reunited for a TV show - achieved the feat with The Ultimate Collection, their second greatest hits album.

Evanescence are the next highest new entry with their self-titled album straight in at number four, giving the Grammy-award winners their third top five hit.

Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins was straight in at number six with Daydream and Miami native pop/R&B singer/songwriter Jason Derulo landed at number seven with his second album Future History.

US rock singer/songwriter, poet and painter Ryan Adams scored a personal best with 13th studio album Ashes & Fire straight in at number nine, while the evergreen Cliff Richard recorded his 39th top 10 album - a record for a British act - with Soulicious, a collection of duets with various soul artists, straight in at Number 10.

Cee Lo Green's The Lady Killer which peaked at number three in January this year, bounced 10 places up to number eight.

In the Official Singles Chart, Rihanna held firm at top spot for a second week with We Found Love featuring Calvin Harris.

Maroon 5's Moves Like Jagger featuring Christina Aguilera spends its seventh week at number two.

But the band's frontman Adam Levine gets a second piece of the action with US hip-hoppers Gym Class Heroes - their collaboration Stereo Hearts was the highest new entry, straight in at number three.

X Factor 2010 winner Matt Cardle came straight in at number six with the Gary Barlow-penned Run For Your Life.
