Radiohead to record new songs

Radiohead will be heading into the studio this winter to start recording, frontman Thom Yorke has revealed.

The band - also made up of Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway - plan to spend some time in their Oxford studio this December and January 2012 to work on new songs.

"We can get things together quite rapidly at the moment," he told Rolling Stone.

There's already one new song, Come To Your Senses, and but the band hope to play some of their new material when they hit the road in 2012.

"It would be fun to have them ready when we go to play next year. I don't know how we would release them. It would be nice to make it all part of the flow and just enjoy it - not think about it too much," Thom added.

Having turned 43 on October 7, he is determined to finish his new Atoms For Peace album by the end of the year.

The release looks likely to feature recordings from the sessions he did in 2010 with his touring band of that name, who included Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and bassist Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

"It's not good enough yet," he said.

"Nigel and I were excited about it for so long, then we kind of lost our way. So we're taking some steps back. It's still in flux. We're waiting for the lightning bolt to strike."
